Worcester Road (B4187), West Hagley: Kerbing, minor footway reinstatement and carriageway resurfacing works

An improvement scheme to Worcester Road, West Hagley, has been programmed to be undertaken on behalf of Worcestershire County Council. These works will take place along the Worcester Road, between its junctions with the A456 Kidderminster Road and Park Road.

The scheme, commencing on Monday 7th October 2013, will last for approximately 28 days. The works to be carried out consist of kerbing repairs, minor footway reinstatement and carriageway resurfacing works.

The works will commence on the west side of Worcester Road, with its junction of the A456 Kidderminster Road. As a result, the slip road off the A456 Kidderminster Road onto the Worcester Road will be closed for the first three days (between the times of 9:30am and 3:30pm) of the scheme; with a diversion route signposted via A456 Kidderminster Road and Park Road. Traffic will still be able to travel along the Worcester Road in a southerly direction to the A456.

Following this, there will be general kerb and footway repairs in Worcester Road until 25th October 2013, these works will be completed in short sections and without the need for a road closure. Access will be maintained to shops and properties, however it may be limited for short periods of time.

The carriageway resurfacing works will be undertaken under a one way system so traffic will be allowed to travel in a southerly direction from Park Road to the A456 Kidderminster Road. This work is scheduled to commence during the school holidays on the 28th October 2013, with a duration of approximately 5 days.
